Russell M. Wolfson

Russell M. Wolfson is a Partner and the director of the firm’s New York commercial litigation, construction and real estate department. He has spent his entire career representing businesses and individuals in matters ranging from complex commercial disputes to business formation, acquisitions and sales. While his practice has a heavy emphasis on construction and real estate law, Russell also represents clients in many other areas and businesses, including restaurateurs, consulting firms and staffing companies. Being a seasoned litigator with substantial transactional experience, he brings valuable perspective to any situation.

In the business realm, Russell is experienced in counseling clients in areas such as corporate formation, partnership issues, insurance, employment law, mergers and acquisitions, dispute avoidance and resolution. In the construction and real estate arena, he has substantial experience representing owners, developers, contractors and engineers in contract negotiation, lien law issues, surety and bonding matters, financing, defective construction and underpinning claims, property damage, insurance coverage disputes, commercial and residential closings. For the past five years, he has also been outside general counsel to a prominent, national engineering and commissioning firm.

Russell is admitted to the New York State Bar and the United States District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York. Before joining Baritz & Colman LLP, he ran his own successful law practice for four years. He graduated from Brooklyn Law School in 1998. While in law school, Russell clerked for Justice Laura Jacobson, currently sitting in Supreme Court, Kings County, New York. He also worked part-time as a law clerk at a prominent Manhattan real estate law firm. Russell has lived in New York City his entire life and now resides here with his wife and two young children.
