Susan L. Harper is an associate with Baritz & Colman LLP. As part of the firm’s New York City-based securities litigation team, Susan represents brokers and brokerage firms throughout the United States on a variety matters brought before the New York Stock Exchange and National Association of Securities Dealers.

An ABA award-winning writer, Susan possesses a business and legal journalism background, serving as the former corporate deals and real estate columnist for the New York Law Journal, the nation’s leading daily legal newspaper. Her feature articles have also appeared on NYLawyer.com, Law.com, and within Summer Associate, First Year Associate, and NYLJ-100 magazines.

Susan served as a judicial extern to the Hon. Nicholas Tsoucalas, Senior Federal Judge of the U.S. Court of International Trade, as well as with the Manhattan Trial Unit of the New York City Corporation Counsel office. In 2001, she was nominated to the American Trial Lawyers Association’s Partnership in Advocacy Program, where she published a scholarly paper on trial litigation tactics and damages.

Prior to launching her law career, Susan was involved in international business where she conducted transactions throughout Western and Eastern Europe, the Middle East, Asia, and Caribbean nations.

A 1991 graduate of Simmons College in Boston, Massachusetts (B.A. in Business Management), Susan was the recipient of the President’s Leadership Graduation Award, where she served as spokesperson for the student body on national and local television, radio and to the print media. In 2002, she obtained her Jurist Doctor degree from New York Law School, where she was a founding editor of the L, an ABA award winning student publication.

She is a member of the New York and New Jersey Bars, and is a member of the Association of the Bar of City of New York and the New Jersey Bar Association.
